Project Mudpuppy is an underground rock band from Texas, and a wild concoction of primordial human brain waves, interlayed upon conventional audio sound equipment, both analog and digital. Using basic music theories, and our own unique methods, we reproduce sounds that flow through the space-time matrix. Politically incorrect, and highly cynical. Project Mudpuppy usually performs as a three piece unit. We exist mainly to make loud noise for fun. Origin: Born in deep space aboard space vessel - Classification: Potentially hostile - History: One of many alien reptillian hybrids from the Milky Way Galaxy. Ancestors, landed on Earth some 100 million years ago. They subsequently implanted themselves with DNA from the early forms of dogs. The mutation allowed them to develope an earth suited bone structure, and better eye, hearing, and smell sensations. Also, they acquired the dogs "sixth sense" and the other traits associated with pack animal species. This helped to strengthen the once reptillian bloodline. With this stage completed, they returned to space, possibly to the Orions, to abduct other humanoid types, for completion of their metamorphasis. Their ancestors, returned to earth and monitored the development of early primates, and concluded that they would inevitably evolve into intelligent humanoid lifeforms. Thus, they remained on earth, and dug massive underground facilities, and upon completion, they divided into two groups: One group would remain on Earth, and would put themselves into a prolonged state of suspended animation that would last for millions of years. The other group would return to deep space, and colonize other planets, and help preserve the species, in the event that the earth group was destroyed. Mudpuppy came to Earth with a group from space in the early 1960's.Their goal is unknown.Formed in 1996, Project Mudpuppy has been strictly an underground concept band, and the band plays out 2 to 4 times a year. Modest by any measure, BUT, we play out more than Alice in Chains so there!!! The band has produced two unreleased studio demos: "The Great Dogfood Bowl in the Sky", and "Illuminator". The song "Jimmy B." which is about a super spy, appears on the compilation cd, "Hot Texas Sun", which is a compilation of Texas-based rock and blues bands, and released by Shagbark Records in May 1999.

Press Reviews Rolling Stoned called us, "...the greatest #$%@#&#! band to ever land on this planet..." --- MYSTERIOUS TEXAS TRIANGLE --- A mysterious triangular area of Northeast Texas, is the location of many recent occurences involving: disappearances; u.fo. sightings; military activity; stolen property; pets behaving strangely; and reports of exotic creatures. There has been an increase in helicopter traffic, particularly unmarked helicopters, in the area that is centered along 33 degress North latitude, and 95 degrees West Longitude. This "floating" triangle usually extends as far East as New Orleans, with the other corners positioned at Dallas, and Austin, Texas.Local residents have flooded authorities with a host of complaints involving a variety of physical and metaphysical nuisances. These include: gardens and lawns being ravaged by herds of armadillos; reports ranging from "unknown hairy salamanders," to such extreme stories, of malformed human heads found growing on the heads of cabbage and other garden vegetables. Ranchers have been reporting strange lights harassing their livestock, and even reports of the infamous "Men In Black."Many citizens have reported high altitude jets, painting the sky with unusually large condensation trails, or "contrails." These coincide with area hospitals noting a marked increase in admissions for ear related illnesses. However, reliable sources have indicated that these recent infections have been caused by exposure to continuous high decibel sounds, which appear to be emitted from multiple sources within the affected triangle.
