Artist description
Gigi Love voted Best Songwriter 2001 and Best Female Vocalist by the City Weekly's Reader Poll 2000. Hi ya'll! I'm originally from Texas but have spent the last ten years hanging out in the hills of Utah. Coyote Bones is my latest cd and I'm happy to say that Mercy, my acoustic blues song off of this cd is doing great in the acoustic blues genre. I've been tapping into a soulful sound that I'd call "suburban blues" influenced by the old greats like Janis and Billy Holiday, yet modernized by an alternative folk, grunge groove. The great thing about being on mp3 is the freedom to have a lot of songs in different genres. One week, I'm listening to Garbage and the next Beth Orton. So, it's hard to say what I'll write from one week to the next. I admitt it, I'm a music sponge. If I like a sound I'll play with it in my song writing and see what is birthed. My first cd Scorpio Rising was released in 1996 and is a full band production. I played with my band for the last three years and have recently gone solo acoustic. I'll be touring this summer around the northwest and posting those shows, so hopefully I'll run into some of ya'll on the road. Thanks for checking out my page, I have alot more work in progress as far as pictures and a new web site go. See ya soon. Send an E-mail if you have anything worth saying. Love ya, Gigi |
