Artist History Started November 29th, 1997 at Moon Song Studios in good ol' Winterpeg, Manitoba. A creation out of the Teenage Riot. sELF-Titled began their humble beginnings as a Teenage Riot satilite project with Forva Agaduga from Teenage Riot and Satan The Sliver and Klown Dawgg (who were then called Satan and Big Sexy), who came fresh from their now defunct band, Purple Apocolypse. The band dubbed themselves Purple Penis, and played their first show the day they met without any idea of what the hell they were playing. (...listen to sample of first show "my woman" from 97/11/29). The band had a different arrangement. Forva on drums. Big on bass. Satan on vox and geetar. Then of course, and as unhappy as Forva was, Forva was moved of course to guitar because he's the best. so many songs sprung out, 2 of my personal favorites is "goth" and "what the hell". with Big Sexy's punk rock style, Forva's who eventually became the Nite Mare, early alternative aggression and feedback strewn guitar style, and satan's wannabe dave grohl and jimmy chamberlin drum "style", sordof (he sucks really bad). the band eventually changed their name to Self-Titled. Big Sexy quit without saying anything around september-october 1998. the band now consisting of Forva and satan started writing this magical album called "pink". around november in 1998 satan met rebecca shipp, a self-proclaimed pumpkin's fan who loved james iha's music almost more than we did (let it come down was awesome you tards). she didn't know how to play bass but Forva offered to teach what he knew. she only performed once with self-titled and it is on tape (but damned if it will ever be found, if it does get found it's going box-set, DEFINITION SLEEP). Forva attempted to quit the band in december, due to lack of interest, and the fact that the music they were making sucked really bad. the pink album was finished at that point but was thrown out due to it being too quiet. (2 rock songs out of 12). in february big sexy, now under the name dags rejoined self-titled breifly. but split around march. during this time Forva came up with a riff entitled "the tragic's theme" in it's "peace/stillness" version. and recorded it with the guess who's bill wallace at rb studios. the song was totally different, very scary and dark. the original tragic's theme beacame "peace/stillness". more songs were being written and satan agreed to do a 4 disc album. i'm not going to explain the concept but it was a very good story. anyway. '99 passed with the tragic album being written. now came the fine tuning. ladies please welcome grassy noel. he never recorded anything, he just wasn't self-titled. he was gone within 2 months. so dags was asked back, under the name klown dawgg. this time he showed some interest in the tragic but slowly wained and it died. so satan and Forva decided to just record it themselves. this is sorda indicitive on how self-titled broke. Forva was getting mad that Satan wasn't listening to the actual song and playing the song, instead, satan was playing what he thought sounded good with song, maybe it did in a different way, but not a tragic way. and tired of the band's progress Forva, finally quit in may of 2001. vowing never to return. Now all that's left is a box set. (shameless promotion folks, get used to it, you should be by now)
