Artist description
Barbarella Buchner, aka SilkRush, is a classically trained pianist, who writes, records and sings all her own material. She has played keyboards and sung backing vocals in various bands (most notably neo-goth trio ANNO LUCIS, who used to strike fear into their fans' souls with their sinister music and notorious slide show) before going solo. She writes a great variety of music styles - although mainly pop, dance and ballads, she also creates songs that fall into the goth, industrial, new age and alternative genres. |

Press Reviews
"If you are looking for some well crafted Euro-pop
-goth, look no farther. Silk Rush is Barbarella
Buchner, primarily a keyboard player, her vocal
stylings enhance the diverse music she brings us.
Barbarella plays music in varying genres,
including Gothic, Pop, and even some Dance thrown
in for good measure. Her voice shines brightest
on pop tunes such as "Run Away", reminiscent of
Cindy Lauper this song makes you feel good. On
"Kiss of Blood", however, Barbarella shows us a
darker, brooding side. This Goth tune sticks with
you long after you hear it. Over all, this music
draws you in, mixing styles to weave a tapestry
of catchy melodies, haunting vocals, and riveting
beats. Dreamy, distant vocals intertwine with the
driving dance beat on her "Euro-pop" tunes, such
as "Assailed by Desire". When you are tired of
dancing, let Barbarella take you an a journey on
the dark side of Vampire love with "Dark Love".
An exotic melody leads into this catchy yet
disturbing song. We are reminded this artist
comes from classical training, as she returns
to the theme that makes this song so strong at
just the right times." ~Review by Temporary Banana
