Artist History
Anne Sullivan is a popular Chicago area flutist who is celebrating the success of her second solo CD, Mosaic Road, which is the follow-up to her successful debut album Ultraviolet Cafe. Mosaic Road is an eleven-track album of instrumental tunes, six of which were written by Anne. Although Anne is a classically trained flutist, she has become known for her eclectic blending of styles, ranging from new age to jazz to pop and folk. She performs in festivals, concerts and private events throughout the mid-west and dazzles her audiences with her versatile style.Born in Summit, New Jersey, Anne went on to receive a Bachelor of Music at Wheaton College and a Master of Music at DePaul University. Anne has taught flute at a university in Taiwan and soloed throughout the country. She has also taught and performed in Paris, Senlis, and Chantilly, France.Following studies with Marty Farahat, Alexander Murray and James Galway, she performed extensively with guitarist Muriel Anderson. Anne currently teaches at Wheaton College, Wheaton, ILAnne is frequently a guest artist on the Among Friends television show in Chicago. She has also appeared on commercials for Yamaha instruments. In March and April 1995, passengers on American Airlines flights were able to listen to the title track of the beautiful flute music of Anne's Ultraviolet Cafe on an in-flight music channel. |
