Artist History
Tan Beng-Jin was born in rural Chiong-Hoa in 1954. He turned to writing poetry in his native Holo-Taiwanese language in the late Eighties, and has since expanded his works to include a couple volumes of short stories and prose, also in Taiwanese. Previously he had written a number of screen plays as well as poems in Mandarin. Today A-Jin is widely regarded as a preeminent writer in the Taiwanese vernacular movement. |
