Artist description Behind-The-Music: Portage, Indiana circa 1977. Disco sucks and Equinox Rocks! A misguided kick of the soccer ball sends fledgling young guitarist Jim, in a haze of creme filled yellow sponge cake (otherwise know as Twinkies - an addiction he wouldn’t be able to kick until the early 80’s) out of the Portage High School gym and down the hall towards the band room. The monstrous sounds he heard emanating from that room were being produced by a rockin’ drummer named Clyde. Word of Clyde’s talent quickly spread through halls of the PHS musical community. Clyde dogged the draft into the KISS Army - as Clyde The Cat - and began working with Jim in what would become EQUINOX.Through numerous line-up changes EQUINOX persevered. Their notorious gigs at the Boy Scout Hut, Woodland Park and Sisco's Music along with a handful of original recordings made them household names in at least 6 households.
