Artist History
Bing was a member of the contemporary Christian band Teacher's Aide back in 1984 and quickly went on a solo route as "Mike Futch". He and friend Marc Plainguet first formed Nutty Faith in 1985, then the post-punk trio Crazed Bunnyz in 1986. The group went on to release three albums and made a noticeable splash in the underground music press. After the Bunnyz final album in 1988, Bing concentrated on his film composition and songwriting. In the years since, he's written a children's musical ("Jungle Book: A Musical Adaptation"), themed attraction scores ("The Castle Of Miracles") and composed music for an art installation at the Orlando Museum Of Art ("Teknodawn"). Since relocating to central Florida in 1993, Bing has performed briefly in a duo called Too Much Info and was the first male member of Sosumi before launching a "21st century psychotic lounge" act called Bing's Not Dead. The one-man-with-a-keyboard show garnered him a 1999 Jammy Award nomination for "Best Lounge Act" and cemented his reputation as an anything goes entertainer by performing in drag, his underwear and at one particular show, completely nude. He was lead singer and Appalachian mountain dulcimerist for southwestern rock band Mohave, which was nominated for a 2000 Orlando Music Award in the "World" category and he currently plays dulcimer in the groove-rock ensemble NAKED HEAD.. |
