Press Reviews
Scream Magazine (Leif Kringen) : This is more like it, although I have to point out that INGERMANLAND is a project, not an ordinary band. Their demo "Surface As A Ceiling" is inspired by the story of INGERMANLAND, a ship that ran aground outside the south of Norway way back in 1842. This is really an ambitious piece of work, but the brain behind it, Oddleif Stensland has managed to come out of it with credit. Nine songs, with a playing time for almost an hour, four different singers and songs with progressive structures and lots of atmosphere. This is a nice piece of work, but at times the whole things sounds just a bit too intense. My suggestion is that Mr. Stensland starts using some keyboards to get some more relaxed passages as well. All in all this is one of the best Norwegian demos of this issue though. (www.scream.no) |
