Artist description The Flemish composer, writer and philosopher Johan Sanctorum invited three gifted young singers to make a selection out of two "works -in-progress": the "Cesare Borgia"-opera and his Requiem (which is a grotesque fantasy about the medieval Reynard-the-Fox-tale). The result is a fascinating little song cycle for female voices, introducing us in the strange universe of love, ecstasy, madness and death. The combination of these "romantic" topics -elaborated in a neoromantic, postmodern style, tempered and enlightened by a particular sense of humour and "parodical" instinct- with the newest synthesizer technology and the composer's experimental research in developping digital piano sounds, constitutes the expressive richness of his lyrical-dramatical idiom. Two instrumental pieces, "The Ecstasy of Theresa" and the "Tarantella" form the epilogue of this walk in a landscape of extreme emotionality and female libido.

Artist History De coloratuursopraan Marielle Creemers studeerde aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium van Brussel bij L. Devos en kreeg de speciale prijs "Rita Lafaut" voor opera. Na een cursus aan de operaschool van Alden Biesen vervolmaakte ze zich in Zwitserland bij Prof. B. Hunzicker en maakte haar buitenlands debuut in Sankt-Moritz. Nadien volgen concerten in Nederland en Frankrijk. In 1996 werd zij finaliste van de Internationale Zangwedstrijd "Vinas" te Barcelona en van de Internationale Zangwedstrijd voor Lyrische Kunst in Marmande (Fr.). In datzelfde jaar werd ze geëngageerd voor de rol van de Koningin van de Nacht in de productie van Mozart's "Zauberflöte" aan de operastudio van de Koninklijke Muntschouwburg. Befaamde zangpedagogen als Vera Rosza, Tuan Sieh Loh en Mia Besselinck namen haar onder hun hoede, waardoor zij zich ontpopte tot een van de zeldzame echte coloraturen in ons taalgebied, die expressiviteit combineert met een volmaakte stembeheersing. Naast talrijke concerten en recitals (o.m. in Kasteel Ooidonck en Theater "Ter Doelen"/Nederland) is zij steeds meer op de scène van opera, operette en musical te vinden, met rollen als Franzi ("Wiener Blut"), Norina ("Don Pasquale"), Arsena ("Der Zigeunerbaron"), Cunegonde ("Candide") en Adèle ("Die Fledermaus").
