    Artist description
Kevin is a largely self-taught guitarist/singer/composer/multi-instrumentalist from Northeastern Pennsylvania. His musical career began back in third grade studying drums, and later trumpet. At around the age of fifteen, he taught himself guitar and piano, dissecting chords from Beatles and Stones records, among many others. When the "jazz fusion" movement reached a peak in the mid-'70's, Kevin's musical interests turned to the styles of such notable guitarists as John McLaughlin, Jeff Beck, Al DiMeola,Lee Ritenour, Larry Carlton and Pat Metheny. Ultimately, he studied classical guitar, editing and arranging under the tutelage of Richard Metzger and composition with the late Richard Dower at College Misericordia, receiving a Bachelor of Music degree in 1983. Kevin describes his music as "eclectic...and as diverse as my musical tastes". Indeed, "Caught You Looking" runs a gamut from the pseudo-psychedelic raga-like "Dhyana" to the Miles Davis inspired "Midtown", to the Brazilian-tinged samba "Say Ya Will" all the way to the sensuous James Taylor/Harry Connick style vocals on "Arielle" and "Not Even Your Blue Eyes".

    Press Reviews
"...Coombs' finessed vocal songs are reminiscent of a jazzier James Taylor, while his tasteful, guitar-based instrumentals echo everything from the lite Fusion of Larry Carlton to the pastoral folk-jazz of Pat Metheny."-"Listen.Com". "...This melody is intriguing. In the tradition of singers like Cat Stevens you will appreciate the acoustic guitar and the vocals."-"More Grooves #1" ("Smooth Jazz Groove" by Smooth & Soul)
