Artist description
Rain of Thought's music is all instrumental with a small amount of voice. The instrumentation is comprised of violin, electric guitar, bass guitar, synths and drum set, while the compositions are indicative of the use of melody as a basis, which is then built into at times thick contrapuntal textures. One alsosees an independence of instrumental parts, which are locked together in a musical symbiosis through a kind of "dialogue" or "struggle" (but not "classstruggle" though. Phew...) with one another. Rain of Thought is influenced by numerousmusical stylistic areas that might be characterized as indicative of the trends of "classical" music in its baroque, romantic, impressionist, expressionistand experimental guises: from the classicism of form in Mozart to the sonic mindscapes of Debussy to the atonality of Webern, fused with a definite rock music sensibility that to some might echo the "progressive" rock of the early 1970s.Whatever it may be however we simply hope that you enjoy it as much as we have had playing it allthese years. |

Artist History
Formed as Newcross in 1982, Rain of Thought has had too many incarnations andchanges of direction to detail, and attempting to do so would invoke the ghost of D.P. Gumby, Monty Python's erstwhile brain surgeon ("it will have to come out!") |
