Artist History Laurentiu Gondiu is renowned as one of his generation's most talented composers. Was born in Chisinau (Moldova) and studied composition at the Academy of Arts in Iash (Romania) and Musical college "Stefen Neaga" in Chisinau. He has studied composition with Vasile Spatarelu, Viorel Munteanu and Tudor Chiriac. He recently obtained Master of Arts from the Music Academy in Bucharest (Romania) on the composition chair of Dan Dediu. During his education at the music college and academy he was the winner of different musical competitions. L.Gondiu is the author of a number of excellent works. He writes compositions for symphony orchestras, chamber ensembles, choir, solo, duo, trio, quartet groups. His manner can be determined as a combination of folc, jazz and classical music wich goes through the prism of 20-th centure technique of composition. His works have been performed in Italy, Romania, the Ukraine, Moldova. His music is broadcasted by TeleRadio Moldova. Laurentiu Gondiu is currently a lecturer of modern composition tehniques at the University of Arts in Chisinau and musical editor.
