Artist description
Funky, heavy, jazzy, experimental Jazz/Fusion/Rock/Metal Guitar Works. The music is quite eclectic having many different styles. All of the instrumentation and vocals are performed by me. The mood of the music ranges from dark to funky aggressive to bittersweet to just plain silly. There are alot of solos, some being fast and technical to others being slow melodic lines. There is a little something for everyone to enjoy. |

Artist History
I started taking piano lessons at the age of five. When I was eight years old, my mother gave me a drum set and my brother a guitar for Christmas. A couple of months later I noticed that my brother wasn't really playing his guitar so I started playing it. I took lessons for guitar and in fourth grade I took violin lessons. I am twenty nine years old and I've been playing the guitar for twenty one years. I played the piano at Carnegie Hall when I was nine, ten and eleven years of age. I have a bachelors degree in jazz performance from the University Of The Arts in Philadelphia Pa. I've had a great musical career so far and have played many shows at many different places. Bands that I've been in have opened up for Yngwie Malmsteen, Dee Snider's Widowmaker and Quiet Riot. I am currently in a jazz/funk band named Porshington and we are doing very well in the Philadelphia area. |

Press Reviews
Review 1: I, Sir Alkan happen to own a copy of this very awesome c.d. If you are a fan of guitar music that goes beyond the mere Satriani and Vai clones then this c.d. is for you. Great compositions, killer shreds, grand melodies, angular jazz, it is all here and sometimes all in the same song. My personal favorite is the ten minute Passions. This awesome piece could grow hair on Billy Corgan's whiny little head. WORTH EVERY PENNY! Sir Alkan, Ill Literature Magazine web page review. Review 2: Paul Lingerman has an aggressive playing style. He solos with his 97' tobacco sunburst Les Paul Standard over his acoustic track. A brilliant guitar tone from his electric, compliments his soft-toned acoustic chords. Listen to the songs from this c.d. They are amazing! Jody from Guitar Gods With Gibson's and Redshift. |
