For many years my dad told me stories of life growing up during the great depression. He'd talk of all the work and worries, then he'd light up when he mentioned Uncle Lee and his old guitar and the tunes he'd play.
It kinda help me realize even in the worse and toughest of times music can lighten the load and add hope, encouragement and relief to "the hard times" we face.
I always like to try out my new tunes on my dad, this one was particularly enjoyable, it was great to see him "light up" again when he realized it was about him and his stories.
I hope you find a few moments joy in "The Good Good Old Days"

So much in life starts with a dream. As a young man growing up in rural NC life seemed so limited to the country road on which I lived. Many dreams grew from the cars that pasted and the wishes and wisdom of those who loved me most. |

This is possibly my favorite of all the songs I've written. A story about talks I had with my grandmother as a kid while looking torward the future and being a man. Enjoy |
