A song for the ones who got me start in life. Mom and Dad

    Story Behind the Song
Mom and dad are blessed with a long life and pretty good health, many of their family members and friends have gone on. Life gets pretty lonely at times in a place where you grow use to seeing familiar faces every day, now that they’re gone. My sister, brother and I though it would be nice to have them move closer to one of us. We contacted Real estate folks about selling their place and finding a place nearer to one of us. We pretty near had the place sold when mom after praying about it for many days hear dad say
“I don’t want to move.” She took this as the answer to her pray. So they’re staying in the house Daddy built in 1959 continuing with church and finding new friends.
I already had the song written when Dad told me of their decision.
So here’s some of what I was feeling, seeing and thinking.

    Lyrics
    Lester and Isabele

See that house over yonder it was built in 1959
By a man named Lester same last name as mine
Every stick every nail every brick every story to tell
Was his to own and live upon now it’s for sale

Now take a look out the kitchen window see the garden all spry and green
Isabele can take a branch and grow a tree it’s the darnest thing
Or start with seed and cut out the weed give it love and every tihing it needs
But today the look on her face is so easy to read

Lester we always knew we’d be here someday
But what’s this empty spot in my heart trying to say
Isabele for 61 years I’ve been proud to call you my wife
You made our house a home no as we move on
    I’m still loving our life.

So Middle America always been and will always be
A mile high gaint to in the Morton Family
Not to rich not to poor so much to love and work for
Now as we move on we can still hold on to what’s come before

Lester we always knew we’d be here someday
But what’s this empty spot in my heart trying to say
Isabele for 61 years I’ve been proud to call you my wife
You made our house a home no as we move on
    I’m still loving our life.
Our hearts our home, and as we move on I'm loving this life.
