Hello and welcome to my page! Check out my mp3 releases ("Trios", "Invitation") and my latest CD releases, "Stay Cool" (Origin 82403) and "The Sound of a Dry Martini-Remembering Paul Desmond" (Origin 82396). Both CDs are available at www.worldjazzscene.com/brentjensen.html. "Dry Martini" features members of the Los Angeles-based Acoustic Jazz Quartet (Jamie Findlay-guitar, Zac Matthews-bass, Dean Koba-drums) and myself in a tribute to the late, great cool alto saxophonist Paul Desmond. Songs written by Paul ("Audrey", "Take Five", "Wendy") and associated with his great recordings with guitarists Jim Hall & Ed Bickert ("Tangerine", "Out of Nowhere", "Black Orpheus") are featured on the disc. "The Sound of a Dry Martini" has been playing on radio stations throughout the country and has charted in the Jazzweek.com. (formerly Yellow Dog Jazz Report) Top 50. Reviews of the CD are at www.allmusicguide.com and www.jazzreview.com. "Stay Cool" features tenor saxophonist David Sills and myself with bassist Zac Matthews and drummer Dean Koba performing music associated with the "cool school" (Chet Baker/Gerry Mulligan, Lennie Tristano, Lester Young). All proceeds from the CD sales will benefit the "Jazz Saturdays" workshop series in Boise, Idaho and the jazz program at the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls. Thanks for stopping by!
