Burn is an ambitious high energy hybrid of musical styles. The thought-provoking lyrics are a satirycal slam of organized religious beliefs. The song opens with an almost Devo-nic avant-techno groove. The second half of the song lifts off into a high-flying jam session with killer musicianship and an emotional fever-pitched vocal performance. One might here shades of Rush, Joy Division, Eno, Genesis, and others, but above all, it is freestyle Liquid Flame in its most pretentious and genuine form. Listen and believe! |

The Giant is an ambitious progressive rock assault. It is an intense frenzy akin to the "Larks' Toungues" era Crimson. A dynamo of bass, guitar, and drums blaze through the intricate arrangement. Next add a teaspoon of Residents and stir in some sinister sound effects. This could be the soundtrack to your worst nightmare, with all the subtlety of a angry demolition squad. The Giant is harsh hallucinatory cryptic cartoon music at its finest! (The unacceptable portions have been removed for this exclusive mp3 version.) |

Starrise enters like a ghostly mist with a hypnotic feel and spacey analog synth noises ala "Oxygene". Its etheral progressions drift along like smoke. Then it proceeds into a powerful vocal section with lyrics that hint of astral projection, or a spirit having flown after death. There are vocal harmony tracks which never made it to the original mix, heard here for the first time! The final section explodes into a three-chord jam, complete blazing guitar and hellfire organ in a climactic solo exchange. |
