    Welcome to the Funkmeister G mp3 page/HQ.
FMG is my solo project / stage name, & I am otherwise Graham Halliday, 22 years old from Sydney [migrated from UK in 1986]. I do things basically DIY & am sometimes associated w/ Australian avant-garde supergroup Vocabularinist. 2 albums not quite out: CHOOSE YR OWN DEMENTIA recorded 1997-2000 & THE PULSATING PERVERSITY OF... 2001-02. If that's not enough there's a collaborative electronic epic w/ noise warrior DJ URINAL CAKE called Overconsumption of Everything, Bloated Beyond Belief & 3 volumes of improvisational postal duets w/ American independent legend BRET HART, the 1st 2 already available, the 3rd I'm working on. Apart from this I have other releases & ideas for my BULBOUS CONFUSION label like a Sonic Youth tribute, spoken word/ interview album, general compilations & whatnot.
you can buy FMG stuff online now from Clamazon.com a nifty tough & bitchen shop run by the friends of the Residents, Ralph records: EXPLAINING THE NAME / DEATH VALLEY '69 CD single & funkmeister g / VOCABULARINIST SPLIT 7"!
here @ mp3.com you can get GREATEST FLOPS!, a 30 track best of cd type thing w/ several otherwise unavailable oddities like the only relevant to here I Wanna Be Back in The Top 300.

BUMSCUZZ is my good friend & responsible for some words, skronks & beats on some of my trax like Pulsating Perversity, Explainin' the name, Oodles of Noodling etc, anyway he's online now so check it out here @ mp3.com.
His evil twin is DJ Urinal Cake who makes seemingly chaotic but really quite intricate soundscapes.
if you still need more there's MIX IT LIKE YOU MEAN IT which you order direct from Melbourne noise tape label SMELL THE STENCH, it's a constant stream of everything & nothing @ once, like life, it's got piano twinkling, radio cutups & happenings from a Glebe pub poetry night amongst home recordings & stuff. .

if yr thirst for odd sounds is unquenchable check out G on compilations: Spudsuckers! Devo tribute, Played Yrself - Free Kitten tribute apparently sent off to Goddess Kim herself, actually I don't think my version was too good [strawberry milk], Delicate Furies which is raising funds for a North Carolina school basketball court, this is out & it's mighty good also featuring Bret Hart, Don Campau, Ben Horrendous, Clang Quartet, Fred Frith, Phil Kellogg etc., & SONIK DEAF, the 20th [uh 21st due to delays oops] anniversary tribute to our favourite idol-killers. e-mail for more info. don't forget to read Chunky Yet Funky zine which I am/was responsible for.

new single/ep of WHO GOT DA FONK? coming soon, 3 versions of that, 2 of I'm Going Nowhere But I'm Doing It In Style, 1 Theories On Sound & 2 brand new trax. now playing: Big Black - Steelworker, this update 2/2/03.

2001 single, late 1999 recording. Features Bumscuzz on synth, didge etc. "in many ways the chaotic nature of the CD lends a freshness to the overly-rewritten pop architecture of most bands these days... 'Explaining The Name' is a bold work that melds the barrier between art and rock." - Jasper Lee, ozmusicproject.net

on the weekend FMG did a collaborative albums of remixes & new stuff w/ DJ Urinal Cake, this is another version of the Bollinger-driven funk action piece that certainly lives up to the title now. or so we like to think. ...LATER DECIDED TO STEAL IT FOR BIG COMMERCIAL 2ND ALBUM INSTEAD OF OBSCURER THAN THOU ARTCORE ODDITY AS IT'S THAT CATCHY.

After I [G] decided to steal the catchier Overcomsumption sessions for The Pulsating Perversity album we had to do more to rebeef it up, 3 new & mostly very long computer creations were made on the weekend of 23-24 February 2002, this is the 1st of them. The others I'll put on the DJUC page for balance.
