Martin's Discography includes recording with Junglez Apart
He also has recorded on various records for local acts in LA and the Bay Area.
He was also a member of the Bay Area rock-funk-metal band the Shadow Puppets where he played keyboards as well as keyboard bass along side Guitarist extraordinaire; Marzuki Grinage. Martin also did some world tours and recordings with Bob Marley's Wailers. Within the many world tours, Martin got to open up for James Brown, David Sanborn, Santana,
Andre Belew, Angela Bofil, The Rippingtons, Brian Adams, and much more.
Martin Batista was born in the Dominican Republic Growing up in Queens New York he was exposed to diverse Musical genres such as Latin, Funk, Disco, Rock, Classical, Jazz, Fusion, and WorldBeat Styles.
He gained experience playing such diverse styles with local bands throughout Manhattan, Queens and New Jersey, also performing at Music and Art High School with a Jazz Sextet with Jimmy Ford on Drums (who played with the legend Lionel Hampton) and Miles on trumpet (Gil Evans' son.)
Martin went from taking private piano lessons to becoming an Alumnus of Berklee College Of Music in Boston.
Class mates included Drummer Terrilyn Carrington and Pianist Makoto Ozone. From there Martin Moved back to N.Y. to play with Bassist Fernando Saunders (who plays with Lou Reed) and Drummer Tony Smith (Mahavishnu Orchestra).
Martin had the priviledged honor to jam with the great Jaco Pastorious in the Village.
He also jammed montuno style with Salsa great Willie Colon in a New York City session.
