UPDATE (08/28/2002):
I wanted to drop a note to say that this page
hasn't been updated in quite some time due to my
change in my musical career direction,
as I now really am a DJ, and have not been
actively producing music since early in 2001.
Please see my profile on MNVibe.com
for my profile and some HOT mixes of the latest
trance tracks available, as well as my home page at
DJMaytag.com
which has my events list, DJ charts, and playlists.

NEW NEW NEW NEW ---------- New studio gear = my first new track in two years! I reacquired enough equipment to start producing again, and some serious frustration was vented in this track (hence the angst noticeable in the distorted kicks.) This track is a bit harder than my usual, but is just as melodic. I believe the work I spent in my off time creating new sounds and learning (more) music theory and new tricks on my gear has paid off well. Enjoy... ********** reviews: "This song is really good, I like it *ALOT*!! It flows really well and the sounds you choose are right on target. Keep up the great work!" - http://www.mp3.com/ronwest ***** "Definitely some of the better trance-y material I've heard in a while..." - www.mp3.com/Spectralab ---------- Gear used: Juno-106, Prophet-600, Proteus-2000, MPC-2000XL. | MP3.com CD: The Sunrise - buy it!

The ultimate 10+ minute ambient/trance epic. My favorite track behind the "Terrace" track. Some interesting breaks and kiler conga parts. Very laid back on the synth side, very dreamy sounding, with some up tempo beats (you'd never guess this track is at 140bpm!) - Gear used: TX-81z (x2), Juno-106, Matrix-1000, Prophet-600, TR-505, TR-606, Drum Station V2 | MP3.com CD: The Sunrise - buy it!

"Driven" is a rough mix of something I did up a while back. It's got a really nice bubbling MS-20 oddity going with some cool synth lines and solid TR-808 beats. If not for not owning the MS-20, nor having multitracked that part, I'd probably record and remix this track. ********** station review - "DJMaytag is another innovator daring to try something other than re-treaded Trance. This is a perfect example of how his discerning, artistic ears lead where the music takes him (and us). "Driven" is an extremely lush piece that starts out innocently then slams, but in a very "soft" way. The thunder is produced not by pounding drums, but with deliciously booming bass lines and phat pads. The twittery sounds bouncing left and right give it just the right ambience, and keep it interesting. Beefy but smooth." ---------- Gear used: Juno-106, MS-20, Prophet-600, Matrix-1000, JX-3p , TR-808, TR-606 | MP3.com CD: The Sunrise - buy it!
