Dr. Ram Deshpande
was in born 1968 in Vidarbha a region belonging
to the state of Maharashtra, India.
Coming from a rich musical tradition, he
is a renowned vocalist of the new generation.
His primary tutelage was with Shri. Chepe,
Shri. Panake and Pt. Prabhakar Deshkar.
Thereafter he had been under the able guidance
of Pt. Yashwantbua Joshi and Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar.
He is currently receiving guidance from
Pt. Babanrao Haldankar
Dr. Ram Deshpande sings in the traditions of
the Gwalior, Jaipur and Agra gharanas. He has
recieved many honours and is one of the very few
young musicians who has the training and
ability to render rare ragas like Mira Malhar,
Lalita Gauri, Samant Sarang and Rageshree Bahar.
Here, he has presented Khyals in raga Chandra Kanuns - a nocturnal melody of haunting sweetness.
