Bo Jake was a Rock Band based in Watkins Glen, NY, that had played in the Central/Southern New York State area in the late '70's. The band had a regional following and this site is dedicated to the memories of Bo Jake and friends. Bo Jake was a band formed by Chip & John Vickio, cousins, who played in several bands together previously and after Bo Jake ( The Cyclones, The Mad Addicts, Jacob's Ladder ). Bo Jake was probably the most well know of the various bands. John Vickio usually was the lead vocalist for the groups, and played the Hammond B3 organ. Chip Vickio played drums and also sang. The guitarist for Bo Jake was Brian North. Usually Bo Jake was a 3-man band, with John playing bass pedals on the B3. Later, a bass player was added to the group.

This song was one of two songs recorded in a studio in Ithaca, NY in 1977. The recording session went well into the night (morning!)and was quite an experience. If I recall correctly, the song was co-written by Chip & John Vickio. The song received some airplay on regional radio stations, and became a popular song with the band's followers. |

This was a drum solo by Chip Vickio taped during a live performance at Sar & Aggies in Watkins Glen, NY most likely in 1977. Chip usually did drum solos at some time during each night Bo Jake played. |
