Well, it's been a while, but here's something new, and again probably of interest only to other basesment-bound guitar weirdos. Yeah! The main point here was to set up the new studio and get everything working. The secondary idea was to position several (actually seven) guitar parts around the mix and have them sound clean. The third idea was to incorporate a much more complex drum part. The fourth was to create a completely open harmonic environment (none of the chords have thirds until the picardy third at the end) and to have the melody define the tonality. The lesson learned: it's *very* hard to create a melody strong enough to do that! You might notice the complete absence of bass guitar--when I pick up a new bass, a remix of this song will be forthcoming.
