Soprano Alicia Gianni is a recent graduate of the University of Washington and is studying with Thomas Harper. She has been seen at the University performing Dido in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, Il Notorio in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi, as Elisetta in Cimarosa's Il Matrimonio Segreto, and most recently as Marie in Smetena's The Bartered Bride. Other stage credits include Lauretta, from Gianni Schicchi, Dolly in Hello Dolly and Polly Baker in Ghershwin's Crazy for you. She has performed the Act I duet as the title role from Strauss' Arabella, and has just recently performed scenes as Marzellina from Beethoven's Fidelio, and premiered a scene from the adapted novel, Ethan Frome, as Mattie Silver. Alicia plans to attend graduate school at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music in the Fall of 2003 to receive her Master's in Music with a focus in Vocal Performance.
