A swirling mix of synths and punchy guitars over a good bassy drumbeat. |

Bug Song is a pacey peice of goth-punk nonsense, written and played with tongues-in-cheek and a sneer at the drones and clones who think that their 9 to 5 paper-shuffling jobs are in any way important. Lyrically it has two starting points: Franz Kafka's 'Metamorphosis' and Stoo(guitarist and self-confessed miserable git) and his opinions on the rest of the human race. Two members of Rome Burns are civil servants - we know what we're talking about! |

Here, in all it's beauty, is a traditional punk rock song - fast of chorus, slow of verse - periods of peace followed by periods of violence- a bit like war really. This song is about blanchiseuse. This is about the harsh life of a regimental groupy. It's about sublimating your life for another's career. It's about the romance of war and the war of romance - I guess it's a love-thing! |
