Daniel is a veteran singer/songwriter from Montreal,Quebec,Canada. He has 16 years experience producing numerous accomplishments.
Having been the front man for local band 'ecclestone' for 7 years, he's had the oppurtunity to open up for such acts as April Wine, Nazareth and YES. The band have two independently released albums.
Ecclestone were also voted #1 band twice on California based web-site "Makeastar.com". The band has also been featured on the website's 'Best Of' compilation CDs.
Although ecclestone and he have since parted ways, he continues to write and record his songs, earning critical acclaim and chart success as an indie artist. Daniel's "Underneath the Willow Tree"
reached #1 on Canadian mp3.com charts in July & August of 2003 using nothing more than a $9 computer mic.
Some rough home demos, online collaborations & material he did with his former band, ecclestone are available on this page.
His influences vary from roots music to alternative. Beatles, Travis, Pink Floyd, Blues, Daniel Lanois, Led Zep, Portishead, The Doors and U2 are just a few he's learned his chops from. Daniel is in the process
of putting together a live show which should hit the stage in early fall. Stay tuned!!

#1 song in Canada on MP3.com's Adult Alternative Chart in July and August of 2003.
A vibey home demo that just sort of happened! Here's a review by mp3.com artist and radio station owner Joe Roy:
""Underneath The Willow Tree " by Daniel Iorio is A contemporary groove with a since of U2 meets David Bowie. It is a mesmerizing melody with an open air about it that brings in focus something in my past memory. I did not need to scrutinize the lyrics to understand the song, which is very interesting in and of itself. This song is all about the Vibe, it sweeps you into some distant memory without seeming to try and the vocals become as much a part of the sound effects as the synth sounds.. It's modern drum grooves mesh tight with these interesting melodic sound effects and this field of color seems to give the song an eerie wind swept feel. I really enjoy it's natural propensity for creating a dream state. I saw my father and my red flyer wagon I use to pull around when I was very very young, it had me recalling old pictures I remember looking at of my family and thinking we were among millions who a had our own little story to tell about love and tragedy, all the while being out side looking in. Very cool stuff and any song that can evoke so much emotion is really special.. Thanks Daniel That was cool bro..."

Hit#1 in both rock and pop/rock charts in Montreal(mp3.com). Also reached #13 on Australian based website MP3.com.au.
A song I collaborated on with ex-ecclestone drummer Dan Legault. Dan arranged and performed all keys, drum and bass parts. It's the first thing we've work on together since ecclestone parted ways. I recorded the acoustic guitars and vocals here in my apartment, with ol'faithful....my $9 computer mic!(which was actually given to me by Mr.Legault when I first started using a computer to record tunes). |

A really rough demo...pretty experimental as the vocal track is a first take...and I was making up the words! LOL! Distorted guitar is just an acoustic. It's sloppy, messy & unembellished. Isn't rock 'n roll awesome? :-) |

Reached #1 on Canada's Adult.Alt.chart, removing Canadian super-group Blue Rodeo from the top spot. A home recording that didn't have any bass! Enter fellow mp3.com artist, Marc Alex Ryan. Marc was gracious enough to throw a rich bass track down, and mastered the tune!! Thx Marc! You can hear Marc's music here:

A song that needed a fresh face, and was given one by fellow mp3.com artist Mike Burn. Mike & I worked on Mark Hewer's "Leaving" together and enjoyed the experience so much, it looks like we may work on a whole bunch of things in the very near future. Mike not only mixed, mastered and co-produced this track, but also laid down the bassline and electric guitars. What a guy!! |

An abandoned ecclestone song. I found the bed tracks on an unlabelled blank cd. A scratch vocal had already been recorded, so I touched it up some, added backs-ups and harp, then sent it to Mike Burn! Mike managed to recreate the song through mastering, and beefed it up with some sensational rhythym & lead guitar tracks. Bed tracks were recorded by Graeme Humfrey at House of Dig Studio, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. www.hod.ca

"anyone listening to music today!!!!????? Check this guy out, he's awesome!!! A moody, well paced steel acoustic takes you through a well recorded and emotional track, defined by Daniel's clear, strong vocals. A beautifully constructed melody holds you to mature lyrics. There is nothing groundbreaking in the style, but you won't find many better examples signed or unsigned."

#1 on mp3.com's Soft Rock charts, as well as receiving airplay on CJAM 91.5 FM, a Windsor-based station that broadcasts to over 1 million listeners in the Detoit/Windsor corridor. Originally an instrumental written and performed by fellow mp3.com artist Mark Hewer. I loved the song so much,I asked Mark if he'd mind my adding lyrics. He was cool enough to give me the green light. I recorded some vocals/additional guitar and we both sent our respective parts to Mike Burn, who in no time, mixed and mastered the tune, salvaging some poorly recorded vocals and adding a great electric guitar track to boot. Great job gelling all the parts together Mike! Many thanks to both Mark & Mike for this great experience! Mark wrote /performed and arranged all music.

The basement tapes! Wait...I don't have a basement...
Hit #1 several times in both rock and pop/rock charts in Montreal(mp3.com).
Here's a very generous review from fellow mp3.com artist Ray LeGrand(www.mp3.com/ray_legrand):
"I checked out the rock track (Hi-Fi stream) "rogue(reprise)" which runs 04:31. The first thing that hit me was the depth of instrumentation and production in the track. I was greeted with strings that lead right into a mix of traditional rock beats but flavored with electronics in such a way as to enhance the mood without being in the way.
I really dig the vocal presentation (great voice!). It's very easy going and sits just right in the mix. Oh how I wish the lyrics were available...
Now, I know this could never happen, but when I inquired for a thought or artist comparison on this song, my little wee brain blurted out, "Pink Floyd meets Nine Inch Nails at John Lennon's cocktail party".
You be the judge."
