Welcome to HMP! The place
to hear the rawest, off-the-cuff music available on MP3.com! We are NOT a heavy
metal band. Most of the songs are completely made up
while recording. Though they have no predetermined plan they are an adventure!
Rarely do we play any song more than once, certainly never the same way. In
fact, Mr. Marshall is the only song listed here that we rehearsed.
If you're looking for well-structured, warm music we
advise you look elsewhere. If you're looking for edgy, emotional music that
is humorous, has a point, is unique and at times harsh please have a listen. Many of the
songs listed are cassette recordings. We recently had a major recording equipment upgrade
so more digital recordings are added frequently!
Our motto is "Record Everything" and we've designed a house to do just that. It's called
Off-the-cuff Recording Studio and it is available as a multi-day recording retreat.
It's built in a large hill-top log home located on a 100-acre estate in
Upstate New York with porch views of the Adirondack mountains. Many songs listed
here were recorded there.

Will recorded the guitar the night before. This is the only time Paul heard the guitar track. He just made the whole story up as he listened with headphones in front of a mic. |

This is about the American corporate drug pushers. For some reason (money) these drugs are legal. And you wonder why America is going to hell! Eric Blair on drums... This is completely off-the-cuff! All the (legal) pill takers should be able to relate to this one. It's all about your life. |

This is one of my favorites... Paul's mouth and mind rolling and Will on guitar. Off-the-cuff during a late night or early morning jam. |

Will on two guitar tracks and a vocal. All tracks are completely off-the-cuff. Inspired by a hot, humid day on the under ground cattle wagons (subways). The stations are like ovens - perfect for the mornings commute in a suit. Everything in NYC is disposable, nothing gets recycled and in my opinion, an overall poor quality of life. |

First song HMP ever practiced. This is the 7th take recorded in June 2002. Jimmy P on drums and Eric Blair on harp. Paul lead vocals and Will on guitar and backup vocals. All tracks are one-take live in the unfinished recording studio. Mr. Marshall is a tribute to Jim Marshall, the man who started Marshall amps. If you don't know what a Marshall amp is please go away cause you won't understand this song. This is the first week learning digital recording - VERY ROUGH AND LOUD. The drums are mixed through a Mackie analog board and main outputs into two digital tracks. Paul's voice track breaks in a couple of places. The lyrics are good... Listen while adjusting your marshall. |
