| sugar melts in the rain is a sad, sad song of longing for lost love in a roots r&b setting. Think of early aretha or gladys night. The guitar sound on this cut brings the song to another level, as does the piano work of it's co-author, george laks (lenny kravitz band) and the organ work of doug petty (shawn colvin) takes it all to church. The backing vocal harmonies of mr. bill sims jr. and paul frazier round out this piece into a perfect little passion play. This is one of Pat's most requested songs at her gigs. |
