Don't think of them as "old" songs. They're "seasoned."
All That's Left is about losing someone and not having a clue as to what happened. All you have are questions. (Which is actually even worse than losing someone and knowing exactly why.) Tornado was inspired by living through a three-day power failure after a tornado swept through the town where I lived. Finally I said to myself, "Well, it could be worse - at least I'm not stuck here with my ex-husband." (Who has since died since I wrote this, God rest his soul.) Every cloud has a silver lining... And so I began to imagine what it would be like, stuck inside the house with the other half of a fraying relationship, without any electricity to power the usual distractions.- Susie Madrak
