    Musicians for Peace

    Artist Spotlight for March/April 2000

    David Rovics

    A traveling rabble-rousing folksinger!

For anyone who might be unfamiliar with the concept, a "road show" is a multi-media phenomenon that generally involves a speaker, a musician, and a video showing, and that's what this one's all about, too. During the last three weeks of April, LOUISE BENALLY and DAVID ROVICS will be traveling together on the eastern seaboard, bringing attention to the situation on Big Mountain in northeastern Arizona, where traditional Dineh (Navajo) people who have lived there for generations are being forcibly relocated by federal authorities and moved onto uranium-contaminated wasteland in order to make way for the expansion of North America's biggest coal mine.
