This song was written after the events of 9/11. The subject matter deals with the comparing of feelings from September to that of a bully back in his childhood days. Someone who was feared so much that it would keep him up at night worried of how to deal with such a menace.
However, once he figures out how to deal with the problem, he gathers strength and confidence and eventually overcomes this dreadfully feared person.
By stepping back and remembering what his father said:
"Dig deeper, reach higher defend your right to be free
Be stronger and stand up tall and hold on to what you believe." |
