This song was written after the events of 9/11. The subject matter deals with the comparing of feelings from September to that of a bully back in his childhood days. Someone who was feared so much that it would keep him up at night worried of how to deal with such a menace. However, once he figures out how to deal with the problem, he gathers strength and confidence and eventually overcomes this dreadfully feared person. By stepping back and remembering what his father said: "Dig deeper, reach higher defend your right to be free Be stronger and stand up tall and hold on to what you believe."

    Story Behind the Song
This song was written days after the 9/11 ordeal. The song was born from the fact I couldn't sleep for days after the above mentioned events. The news saturated my days and nights like never before(like so many folks).
The song took a series of three days for recording instruments, vocals, and mixing.

DON’T KNOW YOU BUT I KNOW ME
I CAN’T SLEEP SINCE THIS TRAGEDY
THINKN’ BOUT ALL THOSE HEARTS AND SOULS
    FAMILIES SHAKEN RATTLED AND TORN
THIS ALL REMINDS ME OF MY CHILDHOOD DAYS
THERE WAS A BULLY AND HE HAD HIS WAY
I’D GO TO SLEEP WITH TEARS IN MY EYES
TIL I WOKE UP I REALISED

YOU GOTTA DIG DEEPER REACH HIGHER
DEFEND YOUR RIGHT TO BE FREE
    BE STRONGER STAND UP TALL
AND HOLD ON TO WHAT YOU BELIEVE

    FAMILY FRIENDS AND GOOD NEIGHBORS
HEART TO HEART SHOULDER TO SHOULDER
MEANS THE MOST IN THIS TIME OF NEED
    REKINDLED LOVE AND UNITY

EVERYBODY SAYS THAT WE’LL BE ALRIGHT
THAT’S WHAT I PRAY FOR EVERY NIGHT
NEVER FORGET WHAT MY FATHER SAID
IT RINGS LOUDER THAN IT EVER DID

YOU GOTTA DIG DEEPER REACH HIGHER
DEFEND YOUR RIGHT TO BE FREE
    BE STRONGER STAND UP TALL
AND HOLD ON TO WHAT YOU BELIEVE

    DIG DEEPER REACH HIGHER
DEFEND YOUR RIGHT TO BE FREE
    BE STRONGER STAND UP TALL
AND HOLD ON TO WHAT YOU BELIEVE

BUT I DON’T KNOW YOU BUT I KNOW ME
I CAN’T SLEEP SINCE THIS TRAGEDY
    SEARCH’N FOR A REASON WHY
SOMETIMES ITS’ HARD BUT YOU GOTTA TRY
HOLD ON TO WHAT YOU BELIEVE
