This song is about the craziness and intensity of urban life in New York City, and the realizations it brings about life in general. There are a lot of references to society's growing technological dependencies and to empty forms of entertainment, such as television. |

This song takes place on a tropical-type island, from which we view technology and our changing relationahip to nature, escapism (substance abuse- not necessarily in a bad light), and just the general sense of confusion of life that humans have, I think, always had. It is also about subjectivity vs. objectivity and how humans interpret and how their interpretations affect others and what they have interpreted. |
