This motet was written in 1497 as a tribute to Josquin's contemporary and mentor Johannes Ockeghem. The Requiem chant serves as a foundation which the rest of the piece builds upon. Adapted here for pipe organ, it is one of my favorites. |

Riu riu chiu is a traditional Spanish song of celebration. It was written by that most famous of Renaissance composers, Anonymous. The intention 500 years ago was the same as it is today: shake it. |

This piece was composed in 1874 as part of Grieg's famous "Peer Gynt Suite." The theatrics for which it was written have been largely forgotten. The music however, is some of the most beautiful I've ever heard. |
