hi. i'm not really sure how you got here, but i'm glad you came. we're touch mingus. we play music. or try anyway. touch mingus is a trifecta of musical, umm, musicians. we play acoustic stuff, mainly because i don't have an electric guitar and we don't have a drummer. and because acoustic is cool. no really it is. listen, you have a lot more to read, don't start arguing now...

holding down the low end is david anderson, otherwise known as "da." you'll see why in a moment. he masters the bass like no other. you want super mario brothers (the original) level 1-2, you got it. da's been writing up a storm as of late, and has proven to be an excellent addition to touch mingus as he's been here about a year.

the main guitarist in this unit is david cohen, otherwise known as "dco." now do you see why they have nicknames? oh, you still don't? well, having two daves in one band is far confusing for me to handle, even though it is really fun going "hey dave" and getting both of their attention. anyway, dco is one amazing guitarist. he as well has been contributing to the writing effort as of late, and despite the fact that he sings worse than the avery girls, he is far less whiny and is an amazing musician.

then there's me. my name is jeffrey harris. i am god's gift to music. no actually i'm not. at all. i've played guitar for a few years and i enjoy it much. i also attempt to sing, since when dco and i started touch mingus, one of had to sing, and it surely wasn't going to be him, due to the dnsr (dave (dco) no singing rule). my writing repertoire stops after two songs, neither of which i wrote the words to. i'm working on breaking through this chronic writer's block, but touch mingus is doing just fine with the daves' music and words from dco and various contributing friends.

speaking of songs, that's kinda what this whole music thing is all about. below are three mp3 recordings of our music. they, along with two other songs, were recorded last summer and released on a self-produced ep cd, "duct tape theory." seeing as the cd came out before da was officially initiated into the brotherhood of touch mingus, he and the bass guitar are absent from the recordings. have no fear, however, because we plan to record more this summer, with da, a bass, and better recording and producing equipment. have a wonderful summer and look for more touch mingus info coming soon to a monitor near you.

    - jeff
