[sorry. busy rehearsing. next update after november concert] 25 oct 00: read interview with dallas singer kristi in women of mp3 magazine this week. dallas song "let's split" spotlight on women of mp3 front page this week. mp3 describe dallas "ethereal estonian popsters." 24 oct 00: we invite all fans to dallas concert on 17th November @ Tallinn Art Academy in estonia. you can come and make happy noise. everyone has good times. komakino magazine compare us to stereolab, smiths & lush and say: "dallas sound really good, expecially listening to wendy's outside.......good listen." 22 oct 00: time out magazine say of our debut CD: "Dallas demonstrate a capacity for melodies so sweetly gorgeous, you're left dewy-eyed. An uplifting work of Baltic brilliance, no less." also news today dallas up to #8 in IUMA download indie chart. 20 oct 00: dallas won first prize at green stage festival held in our homeland to find best new bands in scandinavia. thank you to all fans who came and to judges who gave us EEK10,000 prize money. In Dallas' dreams, you'd hear them supporting Saint Etienne." also colour photo of group. thanks to mm. 13 oct 00: dallas outdoor concert at North By Northeast festival in Toronto broadcast live on Rogers TV channel 10 in city. whole thing for 30 minutes and repeat again more times later. thank you Roger. 12 oct 00: Toronto Star newspaper put dallas debut cd at top of best-of-year list and say: "charmingly innocent-yet-ironic pop from the wintry heart of Estonia. A music junkie's dream, absorbing everything from Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine and Joy Division to jazz, disco and classic Euro-pop." writer ben rayner also put dallas in best ten concerts of year and say: "this Estonian outfit is so damn cool I went to see it three times in four days." lots thanks to ben. 11 oct 00: our song "let's split" on compilation cd "off line (and on the road)" free from riffage.com with 15 top groups. also we pleased dallas on 36 riffage playlists. thank you much riffage people. 10 oct 00: house of blues put spotlight on dallas in emerging artist feature. they say: "sometimes you have to travel to the ends of the earth in order to find new music worth mentioning..." and they describe our music "lounge pop". 9 oct 00: our song "twinky" is on compilation CD free with mass transfer #3 magazine. also interview and photo in magazine and says of dallas: "the songs jump right out at you and grab your attention, each one an interesting journey from beginning to end." 8 oct 00: two of our songs - "let's split" and "sleeper's entertainer" - are being played in several episodes of syndicated tv show fashion television that is seen in 93 countries. 7 oct 00: in garageband.com competition to find best new group on planet, dallas voted number 10 by internet users. dallas song "let's split" reached number 3 position during voting. 5 oct 00: our song "police" is playing in the syndicated college radio show joe's blue plate special distributed to 600 stations and heard by over two million people weekly during the college school year. joe compared our music to the doors. thank you joe. 4 oct 00: the Face magazine interviewed us for an article and said: "Excellent and accomplished local bands with growing international profiles ..... jangly guitar popsters Dallas, who play beautiful, haunting, easy listening-inspired indie." and they printed a color photo of us! you can buy our debut cd at amazon.com
