I wanted to be a little on the Aerosmith side with the music. It didn't quite do that. But it's a kind of power blues rock thing. The original bass recording wasn't great so I re-recorded it. I borrowed a 5 string bass. My first time with such an animal. I used the extra string minimally. Note that during the quiet part of the song the original bass comes in for a kind of bass duel.

Seems to me Joel came over the day after we wrote it and we recorded it. It's not a great striped down sound to it, just drums, guitar, and bass. Since the chords are few the bass line that Joel made up is the root of the song. Recorded very simply on the 4-track in the "smurf"room of Darwinite Studios.
