On June 26, 2003 Isheena Murphy received news that she was nominated for R&B/Soul Artist of the year from 2003 Urban Independent Music Awards [presented by Making Moves, Inc. and 6Cess Net/Mad Flavor TV]. The award ceremony will be held October 3-5, 2003 at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center Alexandria, VA/Washington DC at 6:45pm. "Needless to say I am more then excited by this news. All my hard work as an independent artist has finally paid off and I have a reason to keep going in my music career. I could not be happier then if this was an MTV or BET award, this award is for my success as an independent artist and has proven that there are people out there listening to the music and loving and respecting it. I would like to say thank you to all of you who has believed in me from the beginning and has give me so much love and support in the last two and a half years.
