John Thomas Griffith has been a touring veteran and a veteran of the American music scene for twenty-two years.
Griffith began his musical journey forming and fronting punk icons, the Red Rockers, in 1979. He went on to co-pen
the 1983 MTV hit 'CHINA'. After constant touring with the likes of Men at Work, the Go-Gos, and U2
JTG left the Red Rockers and began a solo career that landed him the lead guitarist role in the Southern Pop-rock outfit, Cowboy Mouth.
During his break between Red Rockers and Cowboy Mouth, Griffith released his freshman solo effort titled,
'SON OF AN ENGINEER', which has now become a cult classic to Cowboy Mouth fans.
After helping form Cowboy Mouth in 1990, Griffith as become an intregal part of the Cowboy Mouth machine, penning classics
like 'Everybody Loves Jill', 'Man on the Run'. and 'I know, It Shows'. JTG is a multi-instrumentalist a most diverse musical background.Griffith has currently taken a step outside the box of Cowboy Mouth, and produced another classic solo cd, as diverse as the world is round.
Titled, 'ALUMINUM',(released 8-14-2001), it shows Griffith at his musical best. Playing every instrument, it only features three outside
musicians, Paul Westbrook on Sax, 'Back to the Gun', Danny Howes on Lead guitar,'Deeper Shade of Blue', and Scott Fuller on drums, 'Deeper Shade of Blue' and 'Back to the Gun'.
