Of Japanese and Korean descent, Nari Matsuura is a pianist known for her stunning virtuosity and insightful artistry. A graduate of the Juilliard School, she has toured all over her native Canada as well as the United States, performing in such venues as The Montreal International Piano Festival at The Place des Arts, the Canadian Embassy in Washington D.C., and Weill Recital Hall in New York City. She is also the winner of numerous competitions, including the Frinna Awerbuch International Piano Competition in New York, and the International Stepping Stone of the Canadian Music Competitions. Nari is heard frequently on CBC Radio, and has also been awarded numerous grants from the Canada Council and the Ontario Arts Council. This concert was recorded at Barnes Hall at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY on May 26, 2001.
