The "legendary" (ok, in the minds of only about 10 people) Ripon College band of Jeff Walsh and Wade Packard. Relentless was the BEST (ok, and only) two-piece heavy metal band in the Ripon, Wisconsin area from 1993-1994. Seriously, both Wade and Jeff were Ripon townies (attended both Ripon College and Ripon High School) who simply were connoisseurs of heavy metal music, among other styles, and wanted to make their own music and play in front of an audience. Both enjoyed the music of bands like KISS, Motley Crue, Ratt, Queensryche, and all sorts of typical 80s metal bands. Jeff had his own Ripon College radio (WRPN FM 90.1) program showcasing new and classic metal songs each week. When Relentless originated, Jeff had been playing guitar for years and had been occasionally writing songs on his own, Wade was new to playing bass guitar. Relentless grew out of what started as a jam session hobby and led to the classic notion of trying to impress chicks by being in "a band" (a plan that really didn't work for an 80s style band in the 90s!).
On this page you will find various studio demo versions of all the classic Relentless songs and a few live recordings as well as some instrumentals written and recorded around the same timeframe. Perhaps this will bring back memories for those who were there to see it all unfold live! Be sure to keep your eyes glued for Relentless "Behind the Muzak" on VH1 sometime in the future. And... when that happens, be sure to pass the word to us and remember to watch out for the flying pigs!
Also, be sure to check out Jeff's latest project Identity Unknown for the most current material!

This song is a straight forward metal rocker with a slight aire of Guns N Roses and/or Metallica from the 1993 timeframe. This is about a child on the run from an abusive father and was a real lyrical departure for me. |

This was the final Relentless original song. It is an uptempo metal song heavily influenced by White Zombie... we wanted another very heavy live song. |
