REVIEW BY: CHINCHILLA MUSIC
Magnifier describe themselves as "Britpop", now that's not a term I've heard for a long time, especially from an American band. Whilst Britpop officially died about 4 years ago there are still many bands out there peddling it's chirpy, poppy rock styling and frankly good luck to them as Britpop was responsible for some excellent bands. Magnifier are an above average example, with nice solid guitar parts, the occasional Hammond organ, clear harmonies and sing-a-long choruses, the perfect combination for their chosen genre. "Some strange disease" is easily their stand out song, which despite sounding rather Pixies-like (Not very Britpop!) has some excellent lyrics, guitar solos and musical hooks, check the track out if nothing else. We'll excuse the fact that they aren't actually "Brits".
