Welcome to theSLAMHOUNDSMP3 homepage!!! ***The Slamhounds are no more, but please continue to enjoy the music created during their brief existence...
Earlier in 2001, the last original lineup of South Carolina's punk/rock quartet Idle Minds regrouped after 6 years to help ring-in the revival of Easley's Iron Horse, an all-ages free coffee-house in which the 'Minds got their start. After the unfortunately ill-attended landmark show, Idle Minds officially were put to bed. Three of the 4 members, guitarist & vocalist Daniel C. Foley, percussionist & vocalist Mick E. Lockaby and lead guitarist & vocalist J. Heath Lane decided since they enjoyed creating music so much with one another they would form a new band. With Danny eventually switching to bass (after the group attempted & failed to find an adequate bassist), they decided to call themselves "SlamHounds", and would remain a heavy, edgy trio. Not to be confused with Buckcherry vocalist Joshua Todd Gruber's ex-band (simply called "Slamhound"- no "s"), with sounds ranging from classic, heavy and alternative rock, with some hints of metal, the band hoped to land a real record deal and make a living doing what they love. Unfortunately due to other committments, the 'Hounds disbanded in August of 2001 to work on seperate projects. Thanks to all who downloaded some of our songs, it was great while it lasted.

Danny starts with this reggae/R&B bassline out of nowhere, and next thing we know, we're venturing into a new genre of music. Mick slaps the skins dubstyle and Heath pretends he's Andy Summers. OK, we're white, but we like jammin' too! |

Radiohead and the Beatles seem to be subconscious inspiration for Danny's latest tune, with heavy melody, garage-sensibility and spacy vibes. |
