Welcome to the Waldon Reed, Jr.
mp3.com Web Page!
Here is the place where you can sample (and purchase if so inclined) some of the most exciting and original guitar-based compositions around. The music is an amalgamation of jazz and rock with forays into mellower smooth jazz territory on occa sion. In short, what you'll find here is a pleasing balance of compositional craftsmanship and technical virtuosity.
Though influenced by many of the classic rock guitarists such as Beck, Page, and Hendrix, Waldon also draws inspiration from some of the great jazz and progressive players of our time such as Allan Holdsworth, John McLaughlin, and Robert Fripp.
Guitarists and Musicians: Now for the first time, lead sheets are available for every song in the Waldon Reed, Jr. discography! All songs from Resonance Reconnaissance, From Today Until Dark, and Songs of Truth and Judgment have been artfully prepared by Waldon himself in standard notation using the industry standard Finale software. All significant guitar, keys, and bass parts are included (sorry, solos, fingering, and tablature are not included). For pricing information on individual songs or entire album scores contact via e-mail.

From Today Until Dark
(Instrumental Rock and Jazz)
Now Available! Waldon's latest release is a very stro ng and assured next step forward from the critically praised first CD. Though former drummer Norm Euker did a masterful job creating and performing the electronic drum parts on the debut CD, Waldon opted for "live" drum s on FTUD. This "gamble" has paid off in spades as the percussion contribution by George Wietecha is nothing short of superb. Back as usual, filling out the bottom end with all the right notes - and even some left ones - is Paul Laginess. The compositions, again all written by Waldon, are bold, unique and stylistically groundbreaking. If you're an aficionado of guitar-based music, superbly written and played, you'll want to add this CD to your collection.
Review by Michelle Nabozny from the Redf ord Connection: "The CD's eclectic combination of rhythms captures Reed's devotion and expertise on guitar. The songs range from hard-core, toe-tapping beats to a more somber, almost romantic feeling as noted in "With Regret" This CD is truly a joy to listen to. I am looking forward to hearing more from Mr. Waldon Reed, Jr. in the future."

Resonance Reconnaissance
(Fusion Jazz and Instrumental Rock)
The crit ically acclaimed first CD burst onto the mp3.com scene in May of 1999 and the songs very quickly began making an indelible impression on the upper reaches of the Jazz charts. 5 for 4 reached # 2 in Fusion Jazz in early June and
Imminent Destruction entered the top 5 shortly after and stayed there for nearly two months. Five other songs ended up in the top 10 of Fusion Jazz including Corean Samba, a #1 song for two weeks in September of '99. Also, Blues Emporium found it's way onto Vol. 2 of the "103 of the best songs you've never heard" mp3 compilation CD. To sum up: this excellent debut effort is not to be missed.

Most would think they'd know what to expect with a title like this. However, the "eastern" influence is quite subtle, relating primarily to the guitar solo. Overall, this tune is a rip roarin' rocker! | MP3.com CD: From Today Until Dark - buy it!

“Do it Again”? Not quite, but the same theme: gambling addiction. A bluesy, smooth jazz lament with a daring outro solo. | MP3.com CD: From Today Until Dark - buy it!
