Described as "engagingly eccentric" on the vast allmusic.com website, David Nigel Lloyd is one of the least traditional of traditional performers. His repertoire blends British ballads, honky-tonk poems, allusive rockers, and literary blues. He has been performing for more than a quarter century. Robin Williamson of the Incredible String Band called DNL's music "wry, witty, acute and literary."

Set to the tune, "The Foggy Foggy Dew." DNL's delight as a 9-year old immigrant contrasts with the Indian removals of the early 1800s. How old is this tune we now associate with the Easter Rising? Could Andrew Jackson or Chief John Ross have known it? Both had Celtic ancestry. |

Swahili speakers must forgive DNL's mispronunciation of m'Zee. This brush with the supernatural in 1954 provides a natural introducction to his allegory of Empire lost, "The Poor Little Englishman," recorded live at the Media Room in Pacific Grove. |

Cúchulainn (KooHULen) was a great medieval Irish hero. Bakersfield (buhAKEursfeeuld) was once the great C&W Mecca of the West. In this live performance, DNL meets the former in the latter. |
