A traditional blues arrangement in the Fen style. In the first verse, the listener is already introduced to the underlying theme of the song, i.e. Fish. In the second verse the fish-theme continues, embracing precooked, tinned and snack foods as it meanders through the full spectrum of ocean-borne, water-breathing creatures. The listener then embarks on a cultural tour of world sea-food dishes and delicacies; from Victorian London's East End (jellied Eels) through to the heart of the Indian subcontinent during the days of the Raj (well it's kedgeree, isn't it). In the final verse the listener is treated to what amounts to a reprise of the first verse, illustrating the lack of imagination that went into this piece.
