No, they weren't full of political insight. No, they didn't have the world up their asses. And they certainly weren't ever called "the Velvet Underground" (or for that matter, even the Mission of Burma) of the Punk scene. But 7LeTTeR ALpHaBeT took elements of every sub-genre punk rock had to offer, brought them back to their practice space, invited them inside and slapped them around until they cried uncle. 7LA had a way of bringing together diverse sounds and making them their own, with often crude humor and a real lust for life. They will be missed.
