I arranged this theme from a traditional Greek dance, Tsamiko. The traditional groove is here, but I added jazz chord progression for my improvised solo, drum back beat and a soulful bass line in place of the traditional patterns of a Greek rhythm section. I call it World Jazz Fusion. |

The melody you first hear is based on an Arabic scale, played with distortion by rock guitar. The bridge has a rock based riff with a Middle Eastern grove in the rhythm section. The guitarist Kelvyn Bell takes the first solo, violinist Elektra Kurtis follows with her violin solo in memory of Jimi Hendrix. |

9/4 time signature in a Greek traditional grove of ZEIBEKIKO dance, Written for my son Curtis, therefore the title. The funky bass line is a montuno to solo on, alternating the 6/8 bluesy section for violin/clarinet interchange of improvisations. These 3 elements: bass line, 6/8 call-response blues and 9/8 rhythm pattern also make the background material for the interaction/improvisation between violin, clarinet, drums and percussion(in concert) |

After the improvised violin intro, an old popular Greek song theme is fused with reggae beat. Guitarist Kelvyn Bell and bassist Brad Jones take solos here. |
