    Most people that know me don't know I'm a composer. When they finally hear my music, I usually get comments like "are you crazy?" "You're insane" "Sounds like a horror movie" "Did you have a rough childhood?" "who were you thinking of strangling?" etc etc.

    I've been writing since age 5. I had a record out back in the 80s called "Modern Day Woman" released on Rising Sun Records (Purple Haze Music BMI), and I've done work in film. "Last Waltz On a Tightrope" was one I did that was aired on the national PBS network. I've also done other jingles and small stuff. I concentrate now on score writing and I would love to get back into film again. Here are a few positive things that were said;
    "The thing I like most about Chris' piece is its orchestration. Alaimo has a firm grip on the subtleties of classic Romantic orchestration and color"-Tony Lanman,
    "Chris Alaimo excels at composition. He's excellent at layering his music."-Clint Gaige,
    and my favorite review was of movement 2 of my "Art of Suicide" string quartet;
    "To pull off something this expressive and sonically deceptive on this equipment is a very impressive feat, and my compliments to Mr. Alaimo for his work. Excellent recording, twisted, perverse Composition and compelling performance. I highly recommend listening to this piece and Mr. Alaimo's other work. Go. Listen. Now...and be afraid."-Lorin Swelk.
    The titles of my pieces are a little nuts but there is alot of humor there. For an easier listen try
    "The River" or "Quartet No. 4"
    For something more riveting try
    "The art of Suicide" or "The Day The Angels Fell"

    By the way, for those who asked about my photo, the resemblance to Charles Manson is completely unintentional.

    Frequent meter changes and high energy add to this more "American" sounding symphony. There is a decending chromatic main theme and a contrasting short rising melodic motive which are both used frequently, adding to the overall unity of the entire symphony. It's worth a listen!

    Movement three "The Axiom" is a return to the "questions" raised in movement one and is in the same sustained style. The theme is based on the movement one theme given out in the first appearance of the solo violin. It runs into movement four "Revocation", without pause. The development consists of themes from all the previous movements. Eventually it dies down to the second part of four,"Redemption". After and extended development based also on the first solo violin theme from movement one, the main them from one returns and the piece ends as it begins but in a much more peaceful tone.
